Chatino

The speaker is Emilia Quintas, from the community of  Cerro del Aire in the Juquila District in south western Oaxaca.  The Mexican Institute of Indigenous Languages (INALI) recognizes 6 variants of Chatino; the one spoke by Mrs. Quintas is designated by INALI  cha’ jna’a,  or “chatino oriental bajo.”
